Shocking video shows little boy boozing and smoking cigarette while being egged-on by laughing adults

Police have said they are investigating the video which has received a backlash since being shared on social media

Police are probing an appalling video appearing to show a young boy drinking alcohol and smoking a cigarette while being egged on by laughing adults.The two-minute clip shows the boy, aged around five, swigging from a bottle and puffing on a fag while being encouraged by people behind the camera.

At one point the man giggles and tells the child he'll tell his grandfather what he's being doing.

The boy replies nonchalantly: "Just tell him."

The man is then heard telling the boy to say "cheers" after every swig from the bottle.

The video is believed to have been filmed in Pavlodar, Kazakhstan, and has been viewed by thousands of people on social media - with many condemning the footage in the comments section.

One, Kanat Musabayev, wrote: "I cannot believe this. You should be ashamed of yourself."

'Shafik' said: "I blame the parents. The kid says he drinks at home too!!! No school, drinks vodka and smokes - what sort of parents let their child do that?!!"

Police say they are trying to find whoever took the video and the boy.

Police spokesman Almas Sadubaev confirmed the language is Kazakh and said officers were working on a number of leads to identify the man.
